2009, February 16th - RTC is on the Move, AGAIN!

After one brief year in the Historic German House, RTC is moving on. Unfortunately, our space on the 3rd floor of the HGH has not turned out to be all that it could be. On the bright side, we have procured a space on East Avenue = above The Rochester Contemporary. Our new space, while smaller on the inside, boasts a large reception area that will provide greater privacy during auditions, and offers plenty of room for waiting candidates.

We will be moving into our new space on Sunday, February 22nd. The address is 137 East Ave., Suite 208, Rochester, 14620.

2009, February 1st - RTC is Hosting the First Ever "ScreenPlay Live! Screenwriting Competition."

For the past four years, RTC has participated in the production of "ScreenPlay Live!" at the Rochester High Falls International Film Festival. This effort offered us with the opportunity to work with Gordy Hofmann and his Bluecat Screenplay Competition, one of the most notable and fastest growing screenplay competitions there is today. Unfortunately, that collaboration has ended due to scheduling conflicts between the Festival and Bluecat.

After much discussion with the film festival, everyone was in agreement that we wanted to continue the tradition of "ScreenPlay Live!." Hence, the first ever "Screenplay Live!" Screenwriting Competition. The contest will be limited to NYS residents only, with the winner receiving an award, plus travel and accommodations to the festival for the reading.

2008, March 12th - RTC Again Working the High Falls Film Festival!

This year's HFFF has been scheduled for April 30th through May 5th. As a part of the festival, RTC will be working with not one, but two of the finalists from the 2007 Bluecat Screenplay Competition, donating actors and services to bring their screenplays to life in the 4th annual ScreenPlay Live! series. For more information, please visit www.bluecatscreenplay.com, and www.rochestersmoviefest.com.

2008, February 7th - RochesterTalent.com is Moving!

That's right, we're moving! As of March 1st, RTC will officially open their new doors at 315 Gregory St, on the third floor of the German House. The space is perfectly suited to our purposes, and will be more centrally located for our clients and talent. As soon as we have settled in, an open house will be scheduled for everyone to stop in.

2008, February 5th - "Alphabet Killer" heads to Germany.

This just in! The Alphabet Killer, shot last year right here in Rochester, and whose editing has just been completed, is heading to Berlin, Germany to be screened as an entry in the Berlin International Film Festival. 2004, June 29th - RochesterTalent.com, Inc. Receives NYS Certification

On June 29, 2004, RochesterTalent.com, Inc. received certification from the NYS Department of Labor to act as an Employer of Child Performers. The requirement for certification was effected on March 28, 2004 when NYS placed into effect the Child Performer Education and Trust Act of 2003.

These new laws are designed to protect the welfare of child performers, and require that each child maintain a current, approved work permit. These laws further require that employers must meet certain requirements in order to become certified to employ child performers.

As Rochester ’s first certified employer of child performers, RochesterTalent.com, Inc. is now responsible for making sure the children they manage are provided with a certified teacher when necessary, and to transfer 15% of all talent fees directly into the performer’s trust fund when making payment for fees earned. Recertification for the employer is required every three (3) years.

More information regarding these new laws may be obtained by visiting the NYS Department of Labor web site (www.labor.state.ny.us).
